WITH THE SLOGAN "back to freedom - back on snow", SNOWPARK KAUNERTAL is already being opened for the 35th time with the "KTO WEEKEND". UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE CHALLENGING "2020" YEAR, THE FOCUS IS BEING SHIFTED: WE ARE HAPPY TO BE TOGETHER ON THE MOUNTAIN AND ARE CONVINCED THAT THE OVER 2KM LONG #NATURERUN THE SNOWPARK KAUNERTAL OFFERS THE BEST CONDITIONS TO EXPERIENCE SAFE FIRST DAYS IN THE PARK. AND ONE MORE THING: DUE TO THE ENORMOUS SNOW RESERVES OF THE SHORTENED SPRING SEASON THE OPENING SETUP WILL BE "BIGGER THAN EVER"!

The Kaunertal Opening has always counted as "the place to be" to celebrate the start of the season. In 2020 the focus is especially on the possibility to finally enjoy park runs together again and celebrate the reunion. The numerous sessions with a "Cash4Trick" guarantee can be "broadcasted", cool side events in open format invite to participate and also the more than 35 exhibitors of the most renowned brands of the scene offer the latest equipment of the season for free testing on a safe and spacious area. We are looking forward to the well-known "laid back" atmosphere together with you!

The #naturerun 2020 - already at KTO "bigger than ever

The SNOW SERVICES FROM THE BIG BIG SPRING SEASON LET US NOW BE INVOLVED INTO A Promise: THE OPENING PARK WILL BE DEFINITIVELY BIGGER THAN EVER!

What does that mean in concrete terms: In the upper part of the park, there will be one or two "big kickers" too much airtime already on the opening weekend! After that the "big kicker" #naturerun through natural "sections" down to the lower part known as "half-mile-jib-line" with endless feature combos and the medium kicker line. This "run" is for everyone - there is something for all riding levels!

4 SESSSIONS WITH PROPER "CASH 4 TRICK" BUDGET

THE SPORTIVE FOCUS THIS YEAR IS INDISPUTABLY ON THE NUMEROUS SESSIONS IN THE JIB'N'SKATE PLAYGROUND WHERE A LOT OF "CASH" IS DISTRIBUTED!

Keep your distance and move together in a sporty way! No contest pressure á la "Olympia", no point deduction by hand in the snow It's all about doing a few cool tricks, "shredding" together with friends and receiving cash in return. You know about the unique flair of the famous Jib'n'Skate Playground at the terrace setup.

THE HOTTEST SNOWBOARD, FREESKI AND FREERIDE BRANDS OFFER THEIR LATEST EQUIPMENT FOR FREE TESTING! THE NECESSARY DISTANCE FOR TESTING IS CREATED BY AN EXTENDED AREA - FEEL FREE TO TEST & FEEL SAFE!

Also this year you can test the newest equipment of the hottest snowboard, freeski and freeride brands for free. At the numerous test stands and over 35 brands the latest trends for the 20/21 season are presented. Let us advise you, compare and test what you need and find your equipment for dreamlike shredding days, which fits perfectly to you and your demands!

SIDE EVENTS

PUMP TRACK | MINIRAMP | BALANCE BOARD PARK | SNOWBOARD GALLERY

In addition to the extensive sessions, there are traditionally numerous side events throughout the weekend at the KTO which round off your opening stay in an open format (i.e. without registration, just take advantage of the offers). Do a few laps of pump track laps or in the highest mini ramp "worldwide" 😉 ("bring your decks"). Train your balance at the Balance Board Park or have a look at boards from the last 30 years at the Snowboard Museum. Who knows "Klausi" - also loves her Mental Coaching which is also on the program again.

DAS TAL 2020 – NEU: KTO ART V(G)ALLERY

NEW TOMORROW IN THE VALLEY THE SOURCE PIN IS GALLERY TO ART GALLERY AND "place to be" to marvel at unique images from the SNOWBOARD AND FREESKI SCENE. ALSO THE WORLD PREMIERE OF THE BRAND NEW BOOK "BOARDS, A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SNOWBOARD".

The gentlemen protagonists and scene photographers are none other than Theo Acworth from the known Method Mag and Felix Pirker. Furthermore, the best pictures from 35 years of Kaunertal Opening will be shown in large format prints.

The one from Peter Radacher (among others Snowboardmuseum.com) written book considered in the comprehensive book "Boards, a brief history often he Snowboard" the snowboard sport since the beginning and will even present new information to the "core riders" among you. The whole thing will take place with free entrance in the Quellalpin.

Also this year, shortly before the toll station, an official campsite with services will be offered at a fair price. If you want to spend the opening weekend more or less under the open sky (in the bus, in a tent) you should book a place here. The warm shower after a glacier day is wonderful - in addition, in the sense of the sustainable use of our nature, waste disposal (here sufficient garbage containers) is also provided.

We would like to point out that WILCAMPING IS FORBIDDEN!
