Boards, Bolo and Bingo

For the third time, the Family Freestyle Weekend (FFW) at Snow Space Salzburg in mid-March thrilled the participants who had travelled to the event. The two-day event is clearly aimed at kids and the programme was designed with children and parents in mind. And yes, some mothers were also present. Free test material from Atomic, Bataleon, Burton, Flux, Goodboards, Jones, Never Summer, Nitro, Rome, SP, TSG and YES was very popular with young and old.

First once about the location. The Snow Space Salzburg is a "cute" Winter sports area with 760 km of slopes! 7, 6, 0! This is not a Prescriber. A field of superlatives and the more I wondered, if such an occasion can work there. But the nice thing is that in the Snow Space does not really notice the size anywhere. Since the whole area is spread out over some the valleys, the villages have also retained their family flair and the slopes were never crowded.

The FFW took place in Altendorf and from there a chairlift took us up to the Kreistenalm. Here the different manufacturers were already waiting in their stands and formed a small village with a centre of benches and tables inviting to stay. Here you had a great opportunity to test the children's boards of the coming season. But be careful, this can be exhausting: My children noticed very quickly while testing that there are even better, more beautiful boards than their current ones. So I had to listen to them for a few more days, how much they would like to have such a new board. But that doesn't influence my extremely positive impression of this weekend. For each child there was also a goodie bag and something tasty to drink, they didn't lack anything for two days anyway and they were in the snowboard magic land.

Over the two days, the Kreistenalm was the place to go to change boards, deposit backpacks, join courses or just to linger and be entertained. The whole thing was completely casual and therefore totally relaxed.

Free Snowboard Coaching

To 10 am we started with the snowboard coaching, which was organized by Blue Tomato was sponsored. The snowboard instructors at Shred School gave the children a free lesson in the nearby snow park. So about 20 kids between the ages of 6 and 12 started off. And I have to say that it is impressive when a gang of kiddies is on the slopes. Of course together with the parents and so a rather large group of kids on the way to the park.

Allgemein hatten alle mit dem Schnee zu kämpfen, obwohl es Neuschnee hatte, war dieser durch die Wärme extrem langsam geworden. So, dass einige sogar einen ungewollten Abflug über die Nose machten… Zusammen mit den Eltern wurde unterwegs auch „Pistenrat“ gehalten, um die passendsten Pisten zu finden, welche von allen Kindern befahren werden konnten.

The Coaching the Shred School in the morning and afternoon was great fun for the kids and the boys took their time and patience to give them a nice to enable a sense of achievement. As already mentioned, slopes and also the jumps and boxing chosen according to the kiddies' skills, so that they happily returned to the stands after a few hours.

Muck Müller, the organizer of the Family Freestyle Weekend, presented the whole day for sure, that the participants will not be bored in the tent village either was. Whether it's distributing Goddos to the kids or putting them on the speakers to point out other attractions; there was something going on all the time. Those who like it quieter went a few feet to the little beginner's slope, where the kiddies on various snow sports equipment. Never before have two days boarding with the kids so relaxed...

From The children's view is certainly the final Barilla Pasta Party with the following children's bingo the Highlight of the weekend. After the day in the fresh air and the many boards have all eaten the sponsored spaghetti very greedily.

Muck Müller as bingo director was the next highlight. He has the right mood so that the bingo became a great fun for all participants. Not . only the children were fully involved in bingo, even the parents had their Fun. Due to the enormous number of material prizes, from clothing to glasses to Backpacks, really all children have won at least one prize. Also my children set off on the downhill run with their bags full.

When you know you've done everything right

Das Licht und Wetter waren perfekt, um lange nach dem Abstellen des Liftes die Talfahrt zu machen. Bei solchen Verhältnissen und überglücklichen Kindern weisst Du, dass Du heute alles richtig gemacht hast. Selbst ein paar Monate danach schwärmen mein Kinder noch von der Talfahrt während des Sonnenuntergangs. Die war wirklich atemberaubend, so dass wir unterwegs einige Male anhielten, um das Panorama in der „golden Hour“ zu geniessen.

Sunday, with BMX instead of Bingo

Fresh Fortified, we enjoyed the same offers again on Sunday. Shredding and Testing to the limit. So that the children can test their favorite boards extensively and were sure what they wanted for Christmas. In the end, however, there was no further spaghetti chat with bingo, but a cool BMX show at the valley station. After all these impressions and a unforgettable weekend, it was time to pack up, tackle the way home and to take again felt 100 radar controls through Austria master.
