In November of 2007 the idea of Karakoram spawned from a single turn.
Eine Sonnenaufgangstour, ein zweistündiger Einsatz. Ich bin eingestiegen… Die kraftlose Reaktion meines Boards auf meinen ersten Heelside Turn war alles, was es brauchte. Die Drehung verlief in meinem Kopf ganz anders. Auf der Rückfahrt den Little Cottonwood Canyon hinunter rief ich meinen Bruder Tyler an und sagte ihm, dass ich eine Idee hätte. Zwei Jahre lang entwarfen, bauten und verfeinerten wir unsere revolutionäre Active Joining-Technologie, ein System, bei dem die Brettverbindungen gefedert werden, um die Kraft direkt auf die Kanten zu übertragen und eine sofortige Reaktion zu ermöglichen – die Kernelemente für eine gute Drehung. Im Jahr 2010 brachten wir das Active Joining mit dem Split30-System und Splitboard-Clips auf den Markt, gefolgt von unserem Prime-System 2014, UltraClips 2016 und TipLocks 2018. Wir fanden heraus, dass unsere Splitboards reaktionsfreudiger sind als unsere massiven Boards, also brachten wir Active Joining mit unseren Quiver-Connectors und Connect-Bindungen in die Welt der soliden Snowboards.
To this day we are still focused on the turn, the essence of snowboarding. The connection between rider and board is paramount. We are proud to make the best turning bindings.

CNC machined completely from 7000 Series Space-Grade Aluminum, the Prime-X takes the Prime System to the next level, slashing 85 grams off the weight of the 2019 X with the new AirPod strap, asymmetric heelcup, aluminum hardware and hollow pins. The lower inner sidewall allows for tweaks while the taller outer sidewall provides support for touring. The Prime-X is setting a new standard for backcountry snowboarders.
