Started by snowboarders who wanted more from their gear.
In November of 2007 the idea of Karakoram spawned from a single turn.
A sunrise tour, a two-hour mission. I got on... The powerless reaction of my board to my first heelside turn was all it took. The turn went completely different in my head. On the drive back down Little Cottonwood Canyon, I called my brother Tyler and told him I had an idea. For two years we designed, built and refined our revolutionary Active Joining technology, a system where the board joints are spring-loaded to transfer power directly to the edges and provide instant response - the core elements of a good turn. In 2010 we launched Active Joining with the Split30 system and splitboard clips, followed by our Prime system in 2014, UltraClips in 2016 and TipLocks in 2018. We found that our splitboards were more responsive than our solid boards, so we brought Active Joining to the world of solid snowboards with our Quiver Connectors and Connect bindings.
To this day we are still focused on the turn, the essence of snowboarding. The connection between rider and board is paramount. We are proud to make the best turning bindings.

CNC machined completely from 7000 Series Space-Grade Aluminum, the Prime-X takes the Prime System to the next level, slashing 85 grams off the weight of the 2019 X with the new AirPod strap, asymmetric heelcup, aluminum hardware and hollow pins. The lower inner sidewall allows for tweaks while the taller outer sidewall provides support for touring. The Prime-X is setting a new standard for backcountry snowboarders.
