Travis Rice, Mark McMorris and Jamie Anderson will be seen exclusively live on Red Bull TV when the Natural Selection Tour makes its 2021 debut at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
Here's everything you need to know:
The Natural Selection Tour is the world's first snowboard series, pitting the best riders on the planet against each other on the most exciting natural and naturally enhanced terrain, February 3-9 in Wyoming.
The inaugural season will include three seven-day stops to ensure the best conditions of the season before culminating at Tordrillo Mountain Lodge in Alaska.
Rice, a Jackson Hole native, revealed, "The Natural Selection Tour is designed with Mother Nature as the leading lady and with mutual respect for and from snowboarding. Women's snowboarding is progressing so quickly and we are thrilled to have both men and women participating this year. I'm beyond excited to see what's possible in snowboarding when female riders of this caliber are able to build on each other's progress in real time, at some of the absolute best riding locations."
A manifestation of Rice's wildest dreams - the star of the stunning snowboard films The Art of Flight, The Fourth Phase and Dark Matter - the innovative format will ensure full creative expression and require a deep knowledge of backcountry conditions to come out on top.
Sixteen men and eight women will ride the complex zone rich in natural features that used to be some of the most rugged inbound terrain in Jackson Hole.
Rice and Canadian X-Games star McMorris will be joined by another eight men in Gigi Rüf, Sage Kotsenburg, Elias Elhardt, Nils Midnich, Arthur Longo (TBC), Ben Ferguson and Chris Rasman, while the women will feature four more riders in Jamie Anderson, Robin Van Gyn, Elena Hight and Marion Haerty.
Rice, 38, added, "This terrain was recently opened to the public and is truly ideal for this event. The builders have worked hard to highlight the natural features and enhance the rideability and safety of this terrain with limitless variations of contest runs."
The second stop from February 28 to March 7 will be at Baldface Lodge's Scary Cherry in Canada, a freerider's dream with 80 massive natural drops, kickers and other features spread across the powder-coated, 40°-plus slope.
From March 20-27, a men's and women's champion will be crowned in the remote Alaskan backcountry, with the top four men and two women competing on arguably one of the best courses on the planet to push the boundaries of big mountain freestyle riding.
Olympic gold medalist Anderson, 30, said, "I've had the privilege of competing in all types of slopestyle, but never in a backcountry powder event. The course looks amazing and I'm definitely nervous, but also very excited to try something new! It's going to be insane!"
The Natural Selection Tour has partnered with Conservation International to develop and implement an effective sustainability strategy, including carbon neutral events and conservation initiatives.
