Welcome on BOARD

Now it is about 40 years ago when the first people in Switzerland imported snowboards from America and tried them out. Many of these pioneers were enthusiastic skaters and they wanted to practice their passion in winter as well. Since then a lot has happened in this sport - the former outsiders, who were not even allowed on the slopes in the past, are now even taking part in the Olympics or skiing the steepest slopes of Alaska. 

The exhibition offers an overview of the youth and sports movement from its beginnings to the present day. The focus ranges from a global view to Flims-Laax - still today one of the world's most important destinations for sport and community. In cooperation with various people from the snowboard scene, we are working on a back, overview and outlook that appeals to both amateurs and passionate snowboarders.

Es wird ein Querschnitt der Snowboards der letzten 40 Jahre gezeigt. Interessanterweise konnte ich bei etwa 50% der Boards meinen Kiddies sagen, dass ich diese einmal besass oder es im Keller steht…

The exhibition is divided over 4 floors and offers a good end after a day on the slopes.

Although board generation ein Bündner Snowboard-Magazin war und in Chur gegründet und von dort die ersten Jahre publiziert wurde, kam bg nicht in die Wand der Snowboard-Mags… Da ist wohl dem Kurator etwas untergegangen. Schade!
