Many winter sports areas hold a so-called Clean-up Day at the end of the winter season. The idea behind this is to collect and dispose of the winter's waste after the snow has melted. Board Generation took part in Laax, where this event was held for the seventh time, to see how something like this works and who comes to such an event.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday,\n6:00 and I have to get up to pick up other people's trash and\nnot to draw my lines into a slope first. In silence I sit\nand curse the idea for a few seconds, but\na hot shower helps, so that I can wake up my children and\nI'm on my way to Laax to ponder. Once there, the three of us are one\nPart of hundreds of helpers and grab the prepared lunch,\nDisposable gloves and waste bag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Total\nthis year 310 helpers are on site and want to remove the waste of the season,\nbefore the flora overgrows everything and the cows get some shit\neat. Clean-up Day is so popular that this year you can\nhad to introduce a restriction of participants, because last year the more than 450 helpers\npushed the organization to its limits and probably also because\njust had too many helpers for too little waste...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the\nSummer season starts only one week later, we have the gondola for us.\nNevertheless, it is now also really full. Why should\nit will be different in summer than in winter. At least you couldn't\nfall over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \"uncool\" in winter are the cool ones from summer<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

So and\nNow we gotta talk turkey! Where are all the \"cool\" boarders\nand freeskiers who call Laax their second home in winter? Probably\nall tan their buttocks in Bali or Hawaii and post updates\nInstagram. Because they didn't show up for the cleanup. Yeah, there were one or two\nBoarders, but otherwise most of the participants were families or local ski clubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This can\nit's not. If you're gonna produce the dirt, why don't you invest\nat least one Sunday in the public service to get your shits done\nto put it away again. That's given me a lot to think about. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well,\nmaybe many wanted to register at some point and could be\nrestriction of participants, but nevertheless this was very sobering and\ndisappointing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And now...\nare the people who take out the trash, not the people who take it out\nhave produced. And no, even if a season ticket is (too) expensive, means\nnot that you can simply dispose of the waste on the slopes. And now...\n...I'm gonna take back the moral lobe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
