#21 LBC Longboard Classic

2 days peace, music & snow!

Soon it will be that time again. The season finale is coming up on April 2, 2022. Come to Stuben am Arlberg for the Finalissimo. Besides 500 old and new friends to really have fun with, there will be cool concerts, the boards of the next season to test and hopefully waist-high deep snow.

Vintage is swab

Go to the attic and get out your ancient clothes. Bright yellow or pink are the colors of the occasion. Old boards from the beginnings of snowboarding are also very welcome and will be admired by the other participants. Actually everything is allowed what makes fun. The more exotic, the better!

Thousand and one

The race is very simple: the first to the bottom wins. The choice of route is up to each person. There are different categories: LBC Masters (boards from 172 cm (m) / 162 cm (f)), LBC no school (no restriction (m/f)) and LBC old school (board older than 1990 (m/f)). The start on the Albona ridge is at 2408 m above sea level and the finish in the village at 1407 m above sea level, which means 1001 meters of pure fun. The route is 100 percent "off-piste". From the start to the finish, you don't even go near an official slope.

Test until you drop

Do you want to know what you can look forward to next season? Then the LBC is the right place for you. All well-known freeride/longboard manufacturers will be on site with 2022/23 test boards. Just put on your binding and you're on your way to the mountain to test the latest boards.

Snowboarding is dead! Long live snowboarding!

Yes, they exist, those moments that change your life. In the fall of 1979, Paul Gruber stumbled across a Jake Burton ad in "Skateboarder Magazine" and became his first customer outside the USA. A little later he was a team rider for Tom SIMS, founded CRAZY BANANA with Harry Gunz, then RAD-AIR.

Now Paul is starting his 43rd snowboard season and can't imagine a more beautiful sport! And it is exactly this enthusiasm that the Longboard Classic has been about for 21 years now: We spend - with or without bindings - together with over 500 friends a day on the mountain, because snowboarding (or snowsurfing, skiboarding) has never been just a sport.

The "Woodstock of Snowboarding" means that instead of rolled slopes, there will be 1000 meters of tree-free north slope descent, instead of nouvelle cuisine, there will be fine food from the communal kitchen, and instead of prize money, there will be heartfelt hugs.

All are welcome, pros and bros. Pack your boards and spend a day with friends. You are the ones who keep the passion for snowboarding high - on Saturday, April 2, 2022, in the snowboard heaven of Stuben.
