The legendary Longboard Classic celebrates its birthday ... and gives itself a book.
The "Woodstock of Snowboarding" has been attracting over 500 soul surfers, longboarders, off-piste enthusiasts and snowboard legends from all over the world to Stuben am Arlberg for 25 years to celebrate their passion for snowboarding. This year, on April 13, 2024, it's that time again.
However, the 25th year is characterized by one special feature: A big birthday deserves a present. And the organizers are giving themselves one with the "Longboard Classic 25th Anniversary" book.
"It's a declaration of love for snowboarding," says Paul Gruber, who has been snowboarding for 45 years and founded the "Longboard Classic" in 1999. The book is also an attempt to reappraise 25 years of intensive festival history for everyone, and beyond that to the beginnings of the sport. Paul Gruber and his team spent 10 months researching, sifting through over 6000 photos, compiling rankings, writing texts and filling 144 pages with pure snowboarding love.
The book is published in two languages (German/English) and is richly illustrated. The texts tell of times gone by, but also of the ever-growing passion for the sport. "Longboard Classic 25th Anniversary" is available exclusively on and for Longboard Classic 2024 in an edition of 600 copies.
