On 17 and 18 October 2020 the big tour final of the 7th Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY 2019/2020 hosted by Blue Tomato and Ride Snowboards took place in the Betterpark Hintertux at the Hintertux Glacier.
At the 4th and last slopestyle competition of this year's Zillertal Snowboard Tour it was not only about medals, but especially about the crown! Besides the day's victory, the tour finale in Tux-Finkenberg also marked the crowning of the overall tour winners, the new Kings and Queens of the VÄLLEY 2019/2020. Andreas "Monepic" Monsberger summarized the highlights in moving pictures:
Last weekend the Betterpark Hintertux at the Hintertux Glacier near the Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY Tour Finale 2019/2020 hosted by Blue Tomato and Ride Snowboards turned into the scene of the European snowboarding youngsters scene. After the snowboarders had trained diligently on the coaching day in deep winter conditions, the XXL setup at the foot of the mountain in the Alps shone in the sunshine under a deep blue sky in time for the snowboard slopestyle contest on Sunday. Despite Corona, many snowboarders had come to the Hintertux glacier to clear the last tour points at the 4th Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY tour stop 2019/2020 and win a medal on the day podium or even reach for the crown of the overall tour winner. With "distance" and in the best of manners the participants packed deep into their bag of tricks to impress the judges and competitors.
The Slovenian Naj Mekinc scored twice. With a BS 1080 Double Cork he won the Horsefeathers Best Trick Award and also secured the gold medal in the men's competition. The Italian Federica Sola took first place in the ladies' competition and Eva Hanicova from Slovakia was first in the rookie girls' competition. In the Grom Boys competition the Austrian Paul Frischhut took first place and Matyáš Skandera from the Czech Republic was the happy Super Grom Boy day winner.
In the Super Grom Girls it was the Dutch Shania Colsters, who ended up at the top of the podium and also took the crown for the overall tour victory as the new Queen of the VÄLLEY in her category. Vanessa Volopichova from Team Czech Republic won the competition in the Grom Girls class and was awarded the "Most impressive Grom" award by the Ästhetiker Judges.
With this result Vanessa also earned the crown twice as the new Queen of the VÄLLEY and overall winner in the Grom Girls and in the open class of all female riders.
Jakub Hrones, also from the Czech Republic, dominated the Rookie Boys class in the daily competition. With his outstanding result he was the overall tour winner and was crowned double King of the VÄLLEY (Rookie Boys and Overall Men) as the best overall rider of the whole Tour 2019/2020. "I would like to thank the VÄLLEY RÄLLEY for this great season. The last tour stop exceeded everything once again. I think the participants always had a lot of fun at all four events. I am really happy about the crown and my overall tour victory. Thanks a lot and see you next season!"
