For the second time, the BIG AIR CHUR festival heralds the winter season for freestylers. At the FIS World Cup opener, there will be Big Air in a double pack: freeski on 21.10.2022, snowboard on 22.10.2022, endowed with 110'000 CHF prize money. Women and men show breathtaking tricks from the 40 meter high steel monster and land with their boards easy in the snow. And there's great music to go with it. A loud wow escapes connoisseurs already when reading the line-up, on which sports champions alternate with Grammy nominees. BIG AIR CHUR offers the very best in both urban music and freestyle sports.
10 bands and 160 freestylers from all over the world and Switzerland will provide great sound, exciting moments and a great atmosphere. Headlined by headliners Busta Rhymes and Deichkind, 2022 Olympic gold medal winners Anna Gasser, Mathilde Gremaud, Alex Hall and Birk Ruud, reigning Big Air world champions Andri Ragettli, Mark McMorris and BIG AIR CHUR 2021 premiere winners in freeskiing Tess Ledeux and Matej Svancer and in snowboarding Kokomo Murase and Jonas Bösiger - so much power and quality in one place, it's a more than worthy start to the season!
Two days of festival with everything The festival is rounded off with stands from gastronomy and industry as well as from partners such as Swiss-Ski. You can get active yourself in the skate park. Tickets for the open-air spectacle on October 21/22, 2022 on the Obere Au in Chur, Graubünden, are available at ticketmaster.ch. Travel options can be found at www.bigairfestival.com, and overnight accommodation is available from the host tourist office in Chur. Friday, 21.10.2022, is dominated by the freeskiers. They will start the qualification rounds in the morning, alternate with band performances in the afternoon, until the final at 8 p.m. and the subsequent main act Busta Rhymes turn night into day. The entire Saturday, 22.10.2022, focuses on the snowboarders. The crowning glory will be the final with the best 16 snowboarders, who will conjure up their tricks in the night sky and then party with the audience at the Deichkind concert.
