The Pirates crew is back with their latest snowboard movie... DRIVEN in the bag, which will be available online worldwide on Red Bull TV from December 5, 2021. DRIVEN is a film about the motivation, inspiration and drive that fuels a 3-year film project, with John Jackson, Gigi Rüf, Manuel Diaz and Victor Daviet as the main protagonists. In an age of 12-second Instagram reels and TikTok clips, all shot on devices that fit in your pocket, DRIVEN showcases the fruits of a 3-year harvest captured on state-of-the-art film equipment by some of the most experienced professionals in the business.   

"This film explains what drives these four men to keep snowboarding. We hope that because of this film, some will be motivated to discover snowboarding for themselves."

DRIVEN follows the four riders on their hunt for deep snow through America, Austria, Canada, Japan and Kamchatka. The DRIVEN crew spent a month at each location to get the most out of it while reducing their carbon footprint. Pro snowboarders are lucky enough to visit places many can only dream of. DRIVEN now takes viewers to remote corners of this world they might never get to see. From the steep, snow-covered "Pillows" of British Columbia, it's on to the ash-scorched slopes of volcanic mountains in Kamchatka that overlook the Pacific Ocean. When you travel to remote locations to snowboard, the risk factor also increases. That's why a tight-knit crew that also forges lifelong bonds through these experiences is crucial. DRIVEN explores the camaraderie of this gang and is also dedicated to the different paths our four heroes describe in order to decompress together, motivate each other and, above all, succeed.

Worth watching is the four-part Pirates mini-series: 'Red Bull: Making Driven, How to Capture Snowboarding on Film'. The series shows the whole crew and the effort they put in to make this film a reality.

What is the main protagonists' biggest concern when working on a film for three years? "It's exciting to see if our riding from three years ago stands the test of time and is still relevant today," puzzles the most experienced of the group, Christian "Gigi" Rüf.

For years, decades, the Pirates have held their own at the forefront of snowboard filmmaking. With DRIVEN, they've raised the bar again. DRIVEN is available from 5 December 2021 on Red Bull TV AVAILABLE. The film comes with an exclusive score by ODD COLLECTIVE/MDNGHT, which will soon be available on Spotify and other music platforms.
