Snowboarding Reverse

Snowboarder Clemens Millauer is making headlines these days. Just last weekend, the 26-year-old Olympian celebrated his second place in the Big Air World Cup. Now he is happy to announce his latest project. "Snowboarding Reverse" to present. A short film in which everything is different, as it is all about conquering the mountain from the bottom to the top. Instead of taking the lift up the mountain, then strapping on the snowboard and descending again, Clemens Millauer simply turns the tables and finds new ways to get to the top station, or rather to snowboard. He swaps the ski lift for a cable winch, skidoo and helicopter. You've never seen snowboarding like this before.

The native of Upper Austria, who has pitched his tents in Carinthia, had the idea for this some time ago. The seven-day shoot itself was preceded by a year of planning. Every last detail was worked out in advance with his crew and the Flying Bulls as to how Clemens could move from the bottom to the top with sufficient speed. Various means of traction, including a winch, a skidoo and a helicopter, were involved. In sporting terms, this was a major challenge, because despite the most careful planning, many unknowns remained, since going uphill on a snowboard cannot be simulated in advance. In the course of filming, the ideas were then implemented for the first time and not everything worked right away. Clemens says: "The feeling of riding uphill at 80 km/h is really crazy. Downhill it already feels fast, but uphill it's so unnatural that it feels even faster. The biggest sporting challenge for me was definitely the rethinking, you look up the landing and know you have to go over the kicker right now that you've jumped over so many times in reverse." Anna Gasser, who also appears in the video, says, "Clemens always has the craziest ideas. The most difficult part of our trick together was the timing, that we then really hit the rail at the same time. Also, you're a bit distracted when someone comes at you with a lot of speed, which is something you're really not used to in our sport."

Clemens and his friends made the "Mission Impossible" possible with a lot of planning, precise timing and above all teamwork. An action-packed performance that celebrates the creativity of snowboarding. The film was shot on the Shuttleberg in Flachauwinkl and features guest appearances by Anna Gasser, Adrian Krainer and Nina Gigele, among others.
