Snowboard Contest celebrates successful premiere at SNOWFEST INNSBRUCK Anna Gasser (AUT) and Benny Milam (USA) are happy about the titles
The Rock A Rail Snowboard Contest celebrated a successful debut in Innsbruck on Saturday, November 26, as part of the SnowFest. In the heart of the Tyrolean capital, the snowboarders from all over the world packed deep into their boxes of tricks in front of the Landestheater and thrilled the numerous audience. Anna Gasser and Benny Milam are happy about the prestigious titles.
ROCK A RAIL - For the 70 riders, the picturesque setting directly between the Tyrolean Landestheater and the time-honored Hofburg was an absolute novelty. The 37-meter long, 12.5-meter wide and two-story high ramp offered a unique urban and progressive setup with various rails and features. The riding level was crazy high, the riders pushed each other, showed even crazier tricks and delivered an incredible show! Anna Gasser is known for jumping the biggest jumps, at street events you rarely find her. On Saturday, however, she showed her street credibility and deservedly won the women's title with a lot of style: "I'm really happy that we have a contest in Innsbruck again. I'm not really a rail rider, but it was a lot of fun with all the girls. Everyone rode really well. Hopefully more in the future!" Benny Milam (USA) won the last Rock A Rail in The Hague (2019) and now continued his winning streak here in Innsbruck. Without a doubt the worthy winner of the evening with his unmatched technical skills on the rails and killer tricks on the Blue Tomato (stairset) and Burton (A-Frame) features. Max de Vries (NL) fought his whole personal battle with the Waterfall Rail. With his insane frontside boardslide he finally won the Best Trick Award.

Rock A Rail is part of the SnowFest Innsbruck Premiere edition (November 25 - 27), which was opened on Friday by the freestylers on two boards with the Freeski Friday. The Winter Sports Village rounded off the colorful weekend program. Numerous visitors discovered the Village and the stations to participate and try out various winter sports presented by the Tyrolean clubs. This was the successful SnowFest Innsbruck premiere in collaboration with Rock A Rail, made possible by Red Bull, Blue Tomato, Burton, Innsbruck Tourismus, Stadt Innsbruck, Land Tirol, Faction, Stiegl, World Snowboard Federation, Kahlbacher, MTNpool.com and Tyrolean Insurance. The snow came from nearby - the Axamer Lizum and Kühtai. It was the fresh snow that was cleared from the parking lots and roads. In the truest sense "from the road to the road"!
